The new Sportsnet Studios located in The Rogers Communication building at 1 Mt. Pleasant required the removal of steel columns to accommodate the new studio space as part of the fit out a revised mechanical and electrical systems was needed to be installed. The total project was valued at $10 million dollars and took the duration of 2 years.
Working alongside WHA architects, The HIDI Group provided mechanical and electrical design for the broadcast studio project, which includes 25,000 ft² of space for 2 studios with associated technical rooms, such as edit suites, sound booths and tape storage, as well as 32,000 ft² of general office space. The facility was entirely backed up by critical power and critical cooling, with a separate UPS dedicated for the area.
