The HIDI Group provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for the renewal and redevelopment of the former Sears Canada store located at the Toronto Eaton Centre. Designed by Queen’s Quay Architects International for Cadillac Fairview, the 500,000 ft² project included modifications to base building systems to accommodate the new Nordstrom store, and other new  tenants, as well as a general renewal and update of the original building systems.

The HIDI Group is also provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design, and lighting coordination, for the shopping centre’s new flagship store.  Part of Nordstrom’s Canadian expansion, this 3-storey, 240,000 ft² luxury retail space opened in the fall of 2016. The exterior lighting included custom integrated LED lighting located on the three-story façade, along with perimeter canopy featuring ambient LED and decorative LED marker lighting components. The new store has become an exciting addition to downtown Toronto’s retail landscape.
